Choosing a departure point
Ibiza Town's marinas suit trips south to Espalmador and Formentera. Sant Antoni is closest to the west coast and the views towards Es Vedrà. Santa Eulària suits the quieter coves of the east and north-east.
Serenaia arranges private yacht charters in Ibiza, and over to neighbouring Formentera, proposing only operators who confirm their vessels are licensed for commercial charter. Most charters depart from Ibiza Town, Santa Eulària or Sant Antoni. The season runs from May to October, and July and August book up earliest.
What we arrange
Clear water off Formentera and Espalmador, with lunch ashore or on board.
An evening from Sant Antoni towards Es Vedrà and the sunset coast.
The north and east coasts from Santa Eulària, away from the busiest anchorages.
Birthdays and proposals, with styling and photography arranged in advance.
Catering on board, a private chef, or a reservation at a beach restaurant reached by tender where available.
Transfers between your villa and the marina, timed around the charter.
Planning notes
Ibiza Town's marinas suit trips south to Espalmador and Formentera. Sant Antoni is closest to the west coast and the views towards Es Vedrà. Santa Eulària suits the quieter coves of the east and north-east.
The waters around Espalmador and Ses Illetes lie within the Ses Salines Natural Park. In summer, anchoring there is regulated, with mooring buoys reserved in advance. Operators plan around these rules, so where you stop can depend on what is available that day.
Balearic law protects the Posidonia seagrass meadows that keep the water so clear, and anchoring on them is prohibited. Skippers anchor on sand or use authorised moorings.
Unlicensed charters are a known problem in the Balearic Islands. We only propose operators who confirm that their vessels and crew are authorised for commercial charter, and your proposal names the operator delivering the service.
| May – June | Long, warm days with more space in the anchorages. Good value compared with high summer. |
|---|---|
| July – August | Peak season. The best yachts book up first and the popular anchorages are busy, so start early in the day. |
| September | Warm sea, softer light and a calmer pace. A favourite month for charters. |
| October – April | The season winds down in October, and few operators sail in winter. |
Ibiza charter prices depend on the yacht's size and type, the season, the duration and the route. Formentera trips use more fuel than a local cove. Fuel, catering, drinks, mooring fees and extra crew may be included or charged separately, depending on the operator. Your written proposal names the operator and the vessel, and sets out exactly what is included.
Swimming stops, anchorages and routes depend on weather, sea conditions and local regulations. Your skipper has the final say on safety.
Yes. It is the most popular day route from Ibiza Town. The crossing is short on a motor yacht and takes longer under sail. Where you can stop depends on the weather and on the mooring rules in the natural park.
A motor yacht covers more distance and suits a Formentera day with several stops. A sailing yacht or catamaran is slower but quieter and more stable at anchor. Tell us how you would like to spend the day and we will suggest which suits you.
No. The skipper or operator handles moorings and anchoring as part of the route plan.
It depends on the operator and the route. Some include fuel for a set itinerary; others charge for what is used. Your proposal states which applies.
The skipper decides on safety. If conditions are unsuitable, the operator offers another date or the remedy set out in your confirmed booking.
